In conjunction with the AAU Biennial Conference Of Rectors, Vice Chancellors and Presidents of African Universities 2023 (COREVIP 2023), high-level representatives of major higher education (HE) and research institutes, networks, and funding and policy bodies in Africa, Europe and beyond will come together for the launch of a new Charter framework for advancing transformative research collaborations between Africa and the rest of the world. The launch event will take place in Windhoek, Namibia, on 05 July 2023 from 09h00 to 13h30.
Jointly developed by the continent’s major HE constituencies, drawing on African intellectual thought and building on dialogue with counterparts in Europe, North America and others around the world, the Africa-centred Charter framework, will serve as a critically important mechanism for advancing a mode of research collaborations specifically between Africa and the Global North that truly serves to strengthen and uphold the continent’s overall contribution to the global production of knowledge.
